How To Relax In a Mad World

Sit by the bay to relax

Get away from the hustle

Think of a place that sets your mind at ease. A place that’s relaxing to the mind, body, and soul. Wow, this sounds like a guided meditation, which was not my intent. Is this place close? Actually, the real question is, can you visit this place when you quickly need to get away? This location should not be an island resort. In fact, I encourage you not to choose the Caribbean or Hawaii as your happy place. Not because it’s gorgeous, but because it’s far and hard to get to. You need to book a flight, take off work, etc. What I’m saying is find a place that is close by to get away and relax.

Have you thought of a convenient place to relax?

Some might think of a spa. Sure they’re relaxing but also expensive. I would love to drop by a spa every day to find some peace but that’s not exactly financially viable. I love nature. God created Earth for us to enjoy, yet we spend most of our time indoors. I get it, inside is nice and cozy, and there aren’t hopefully too many bugs. But there is a whole world out there and we’re missing while sitting inside staring at our phones! What I’m saying is, if you don’t have a particular place in mind go out and find one!

Why am I harping on finding a relaxing place?

When we take ourselves out of the hustle, our minds can relax and de-stress. This world can be crazy. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, just check out any news website. Go on any social media. Everyone seems on the brink of losing their minds. I am confident the majority of users on Twitter are only on the platform to fight and cause mayhem. Why is everyone fighting???

I constantly remind myself that social media is not reality. Everyone is trying to put their best face forward. Or they are cracking self-deprecating jokes about wallowing in the state of the world. This can weigh on even the strongest minds and lead to anxiety about everything. If you struggle with anxiety check out Relieve Anxiety with 10 Helpful Tips.

Have you thought of a relaxing place yet?

I love trees and flowers. Long grass in a huge field, or reeds by a river. They sway in the wind and make beautiful swooshing noises as they bend into the wind. Have you ever heard of white noise? People find white noise soothing and some, including myself, cannot sleep without a fan blowing. Well, there is also something called brown noise. I heard about it on Instagram, but I didn’t name it. Brown noise is better than white noise, trust me, it just is. Some say it sounds like being on an airplane. I think it sounds like a gentle breeze traveling through the trees or long grass. How can you have anxiety listening to grass swaying in the wind?

So, Is This Going to Help Relieve Stress?

Just get out there! Go outside. Go out and experience nature. It’s amazing how a walk in the woods, on the beach, or in the park down the street can help relieve stress. Just get away from the environment you’re surrounded by all the time. It helps clear the mind. A walk is great because you’re also getting exercise which will go a long way to relax in this mad world. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and see something amazing!
